Heartbreaking Finish in Philly

With an extraordinary year and major accomplishments, both teams were viciously anxious for this year’s national championships. The D1’s first game was against North Texas. It was obvious that the knights came to play with an impressive 10-1 victory. The B team’s first match up was against powerhouse UMSL, and they unfortunately had a close loss. The D1 squad faced Regional Champion Colorado State in the first round. Realizing it was do or die, the Knights came out on fire and was victorious with a 10-4 final. The D1 team made a strong run and ended up making the sweet 16. The B team finished the tournament with a back to back final four appearance. They will be looking to make a 3 peat next year with yet another final four appearance, and the help of a strong incoming freshman class.

On the Road to Nationals, UCF Gives Back…

After a snowy weekend in Atlanta, it was time to forget about the past and look to the future. The regular season is history and it all comes down to the biggest tournament of the year, The NCRHA National Championships. The playoff beards started, treadmills brought out of storage, and the jocks and socks stay unwashed!! Even with such a massive tournament coming up, everyone still needs to have a little fun. First off the entire team participated in the UCF Relay for Life.Lastly, with an entire season of everyone bonding on and around the rink, it was finally time to do some quality team building off the rink as well. Paintball was the majority vote, and after an amazing night it is understandable why.

BACK TO BACK!!!

Amidst being stuck in the middle of Atlanta’s 2nd worst snow storm in history, the UCF Knights won the South East Regional Championships. Entering the tournament as the top seed, the knights had an easy run through the weekend. This is the 8th D1 regional championship title UCF has won in the past 12 years. The B team has also won the regional championship this year to help fulfill the back to back wins in both divisions. Both teams are now headed to Philadelphia, PA for the national championships April 1st through the 5th.

Both teams finish the regular season in 1st place!!!

With a blistering three weeks finally coming to an end, the UCF Roller Hockey Organization has done it again. Done what, had both the D1 and the B team finish the regular season in 1st place. Now with the regular season finished, it is all practice and hard work for the playoffs and post season games. Our D1 team will be competing in Snellville, GA at the South East Regional Championships. Since there are only three B teams in the region, there is no regional championship event for this division. This means that the UCF B team is once again the South Eastern Regional Champions. This is a repeat from last season, and the UCF B team has an auto bid to the National Championships in Feasterville, PA in April.
